The Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center's primary focus is to recruit, train, and retain healthcare providers on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, while also promoting programs that encourage healthy lifestyles.
Finding quality healthcare on the the Eastern Shore can be challenging – ESAHEC is working to change that by recruiting and training professionals who stay and serve here.
With increased uncertainty around state and federal funding, the support of our community has never been more important to sustain and expand the programs that improve rural health across the Eastern Shore.
ESAHEC provides educational resources and support through equitable community-based activities and services in order to recruit, retain and train health care professionals on the Eastern Shore by way of collaborative and innovative partnerships.
Your gift can provide invaluable support!
Here is what each level could help with:
- $25 can provide one month of household supplies for a healthcare student in AHEC housing - or - classroom supplies for one (1) Dental Careers Exploration program in local high schools.
- $50 can provide two (2) nights of housing for healthcare students in AHEC housing.
- $100 can pay for 10 people to participate in the poverty simulation to increase empathy and awareness of issues in our community.
- $250 can provide one week of Community Health Worker (CHW) training for one student.
- $500 can send 10 students on an informative and fun Health Careers field trip.
Did you know that $2,300 covers one full month at our Salisbury house for up to four healthcare profession students? Your gift ensures that the next generation of healthcare professionals stays and practices here on the Shore.
Does your loved one have trouble navigating the healthcare system or getting transportation to doctor visits? Community Health Workers are community advocates. Your gift can provide training and peer support to make sure our community has access to the best care.
Every smile tells a story. Our Oral Health Outreach program helps children across the Eastern Shore build lifelong habits that prevent pain and open doors to better health. Your gift can provide dental kits and supplies to help prevent vaping and lessen oral health diseases.
