For the year of May 2025 to April 2026 the JB will be fundraising for the new Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program at TidalHealth. This program provides the final piece for a doctor to become board eligible. This is important to the Junior Board, TidalHealth and to our community because this is our hospital's opportunity to grow doctors here on the shore.
Why is this important? Because approximately 1 in 2 residents stay in the state that they are trained in — this means more doctors for all of the shore community. The Junior Board is fundraising in to help with future costs of Simulation Center Equipment, Ultrasound Equipment that are required for accreditation.
The first residency class of Internal Medicine Doctors from TidalHealth retain 5 doctors for our hospital system. The program is only growing.
