$1,865 raised by 6 donors

The Junior Board at TidalHealth is a century-long cornerstone of service in our healthcare community. Founded in 1924 with an initial challenge to raise $2,000 for a hospital vehicle serving women and children in rural Wicomico County, the Junior Board quickly demonstrated its commitment and resilience, continuing its fundraising efforts through the century to follow.

Over the years, the Junior Board has supported hospital growth by funding equipment, scholarships, and patient care, and is recognized for organizing charity balls, luncheons, and other events. Their efforts have contributed to major hospital expansions, including trauma centers, radiation units, and mammography services. The establishment of their gift shop has raised millions, becoming a vital part of hospital support.

For over 100 years, dedicated volunteers have contributed through various initiatives, including knitting baby hats, hosting events, serving oncology patients, and raising funds for essential services. The JB has adapted to new challenges, such as navigating the pandemic and evolving hospital needs, while maintaining its commitment to community healthcare.

In celebration of their 100th anniversary, the Junior Board donated over  $100,000 to the TidalHealth Foundations Mobile Mammography drive. Their mission remains steadfast: to promote and advance the welfare of TidalHealth Peninsula Regional by providing capital, social engagement and volunteer support wherever needed.

The JB has turned its fundraising efforts to support future needs of the new TidalHealth Graduate Medical Education Program. This program aims to train physicians locally with hopes of retaining them on the shore after graduation.

If you have time and talent to donate we are always looking for new members. Check out our membership tab above for more information.
