More Than a Center. A Place of Hope.

Every family deserves a place where they feel seen, heard, and supported. Imagine arriving in a new country, filled with dreams of a better future, but facing barriers you never anticipated. A language you don’t yet understand. A school system you’re unfamiliar with. Job opportunities that seem out of reach. And the overwhelming question: Where do I turn for help?

For many immigrant families on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, this is their reality. That’s where the Haitian Development Center of Delmarva (HDCD) steps in. Every day, our center works to turn uncertainty into opportunity.

For a child, that looks like a safe place to receive tutoring, encouragement, and academic support. For a parent, it means access to English classes, interpretation services, and resources that help them become more independent. For a family facing hardship, it means finding someone willing to listen, guide, and connect them with the support they need. But behind every program is something even greater: a person whose future can be changed through the generosity of someone like you.

This giving season, we’re asking our community to stand with us. Your donation helps provide meals for children, transportation to essential programs, language assistance, and emergency support for families experiencing difficult circumstances.
