Q. Who can donate?

A. Anyone can donate! Shore Gives 365 offers many payment options through the donation website.

Q: Do I need a user account to donate?

A: No, you do not need to create an account to make a donation. However, if you plan to give multiple times, creating an account means you only have to enter your credit card information once. Your account also collects your tax receipts in one location and enables you to track your donation, review the charities you support and schedule future giving.

If you are a returning donor and have an existing account, you can use the Give Again button on the nonprofit search page which will add organizations you have supported in the past directly into your cart.

Q: Can I donate on my smartphone?

A: Yes – this site is mobile friendly!

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?

A. We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AmEx) as well as Google Pay (for Android users), Apple Pay (for Apple users), Venmo, PayPal, Giving (Gift) Cards, and CFES held Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). For donations over $50, we also offer an e-check/ACH option. All these payment methods are easily accessible from the donations cart during the checkout process.

Q. When can I donate?

A. You can donate 24/7, 365 days a year!

Q. Are gifts tax-deductible?

A. All donations are tax-deductible and irrevocable and will be for the unrestricted use of your chosen charity.

Q. Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

A. Yes. You will receive an electronic receipt for your gift(s) via email. The receipt is automatically generated and should arrive within moments of making your donation to the email you used at check out. If you did not receive a receipt, check your Spam and/or Junk folders. If you still can’t find your receipt, please email support@mightycause.com.

Q. Is there a minimum gift?

A. There is a minimum gift of $10.00.

Q. Is there a maximum gift?

A. There is no maximum gift!

Q. Are there fees for processing donations?

A. Yes. There are platform and standard payment processing fees on donations. Fees differ by payment method:

Credit card/PayPal transactions: 3.5% platform fee and 2.9% + 30 cents credit card fee
Online check (ACH): 3.5% platform fee and 1% + $1.50 ACH fee (ACH fee is capped at $5.00)
You will have the option to cover the fees when making donations. If you choose to cover fees, the nonprofit organization will receive 100% of your intended donation.

Q. Can I give to multiple organizations?

A. Yes! Simply choose “Add to cart and check out later” when choosing your first donation. You can continue to “shop” and add donations to your cart. When you check out, your order will be totaled, and your gifts will be distributed as you have designated.

Q. Can I schedule recurring donations to my favorite nonprofits?

A. Yes! You may schedule a recurring monthly donation to your favorite participating organization(s). When you are entering the information for your donation, you have the option to select “one-time donation” or “monthly donation”. If you would like it to be recurring, please choose “monthly donation”.

Q. If I have a donor-advised fund (DAF) at the Community Foundation, may I use it to make donations on Shore Gives 365?

A. Yes! Simply select "DAF" as your payment method in the checkout process and enter the requested information. CFES will receive your request and process it within 7-10 business days. For assistance with DAF requests, you may contact our Program Officer, Shelbie Thompson at donorservices@cfes.org.

Q. Can I submit a donation by check directly to the Community Foundation?

A. No. We do not accept donations outside of the online portal. Your donation through Shore Gives 365 goes directly to the nonprofit you choose to support. Only donations made to the CFES Help Your Neighbor profile will come to the Community Foundation.

Q. How can I request a refund if I have made an error submitting my donation?

A. All gifts are final. We cannot refund due to the nature of the immediate tax benefit. If you have made a gross error (accidentally added too many zeros!), please reach out to support@mightycause.com ASAP.

Q. When will the nonprofit receive my donation?

A. Each online donation is disbursed directly to the nonprofit from the Mightycause Foundation via EFT. EFT disbursements are processed twice-monthly on the 10th (for donations made from the 16th of the prior month through the last day of the prior month) and 25th of the month (for donations made from the 1st through 15th of the month). If EFT set-up is not completed, a paper check will be issued on the 10th of the month.

Q. Why does my donation receipt reference MightyCause Charitable Foundation Donor Advised Fund?

A. MightyCause Charitable Foundation Donor Advised Fund is the vendor supporting the Shore Gives 365 website. They are responsible for receiving and processing all donations. Your donated funds funnel through MightyCause to your selected charity.
