Worcester County G O L D Inc

Worcester County GOLD (Giving Other Lives Dignity) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides emergency financial assistance and basic needs items for Worcester County residents living with low income.  

In 1997, GOLD was established after a needs assessment found a gap in emergency financial assistance in Worcester County.  GOLD began to build an emergency fund to address daily needs such as food, medicine, housing, and utilities.

GOLD works with community partners in Worcester County including social services, the health department and the school system who confirm that our clientele meet the financial need criteria to participate in our programs. Through these partnerships, GOLD is able to serve as a safety net to meet emergency needs for local citizens by promoting the welfare of infants and children, families in crisis, those who are homeless, and vulnerable adults in Worcester County. 

GOLD also maintains the VAULT (Vast Amounts of Useful Little Things) in our office, where we store basic needs items to provide our community partners immediate access to address emergency situations.

In addition to this important work that keeps us busy year-round, GOLD also runs several annual programs including providing school supplies, Thanksgiving turkeys and holiday gifts to those in need.  Additionally, we provide funding for children to attend summer camps that would otherwise be unaffordable to families.
