At Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County, we don’t just build houses—we open doors to generational opportunity. By making affordable homeownership possible, we help families put down roots, build equity, and break the cycle of housing instability through now down-payment, affordable mortgages. This stability allows parents to invest in their children’s futures, pursue higher education, build careers with higher earning potential, and create lasting wealth that can be passed from one generation to the next.
Our impact goes beyond new construction. Through our Critical Home Repair Program, we help low-income older adults remain safely and independently in their homes by addressing urgent needs such as roof repairs and accessibility modifications. With in-house funding and partnerships with USDA Rural Development and Maryland DHCD, these life-saving repairs are made possible through zero-interest loans and grants—preserving dignity, safety, and peace of mind for our senior neighbors.

Federal and state funding cuts have made community support more important than ever. At the same time, rising rents and flat wages are forcing more local families into impossible situations. The need for affordable housing and critical home repairs is growing at a pace we can’t ignore.
We are working hard to ensure that no one has to choose between rent and food, or medicine and fixing a leaking roof. But, we cannot do it alone. We need your support.
