At Horizons Delmarva, we believe that summer should be a season of growth, not learning loss especially for students who face the greatest challenges. That's why we provide a six-week Summer Learning Program exclusively for low-income public school students in Wicomico County, combining academics with enrichment that fuels confidence, curiosity, and joy.
One of the most powerful parts of the Horizons experience is our swimming program. Every child learns how to swim gaining a life-saving skill, building self-esteem, and overcoming fears in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Our whole-child approach blends reading and math with arts, STEAM, outdoor play, and community connection. As students return year after year, they build lasting relationships, improve academically, and grow into resilient, motivated learners.
Mission
The mission of Horizons Delmarva is to provide low-income public school students in Wicomico County, with an intensive academic Summer Learning Program to transform the lives of students caught in the achievement gap. Working in partnership with teachers and families, Horizons guides and supports students from first through grade six via the Summer Enrichment Program. It is the goal of Horizons to develop the whole child be emphasizing academic, cultural, and recreational activities that promote problem-solving skills, foster awareness of community responsibility, instill respect for oneself and others, and encourage a lifelong love of learning. The Horizons program gives students the tools and support that will assist them in becoming successful, confident students.
