About the Salisbury Children’s Choir
The Salisbury Children’s Choir empowers young voices by cultivating strong musicianship, delivering inspiring choral performances, and building a joyful, connected community. Our mission is to provide high-quality vocal training, teach essential musical skills, and offer meaningful performance opportunities for singers ages 8–18.
We believe music brings people together. Through sight-reading, music theory, ear training, and ensemble work, students grow in confidence, develop leadership skills, and build lasting friendships. Our core values—artistic excellence, joy of singing, community, integrity, and inspiration—guide every rehearsal and performance.
Founded in 2017 and led by Artistic Director, Alice Wigfield, the choir offers the region’s only professional-level youth choral training. Weekly rehearsals, local and statewide performances, and a supportive learning environment help young singers flourish both musically and personally.

Our current needs are as follows:
URGENT NEED - Scholarship funding for several students. We never want a financial barrier to prevent a singer from participating. We need donors to come alongside these students, allowing for continued excellence choral education and performance.
Ongoing needs -
- Digital music platform - For 2026-2027, we are moving towards digital music platform. This allows greater expansion of musical abilities.
- Individual patrons & business sponsorships - These donations allow for regional performances like performing at the Naval Academy or for the Maryland Senate prayer breakfast. Please see our website for ways to get involved!
SCC Leadership Initiatives -
- Singer Recruitment - Expanding our membership through recruiting talented singers from various communities and backgrounds on Delmarva's Eastern Shore.
- Musical Repertoire - SCC Artistic Directors' initiatives this year are to provide professional vocal training and incorporate unique performance opportunities and collaborations.
- Secure Funding - Strengthen financial stability through donations, sponsorships, grants, & fundraising events.
- Website - A refreshed website with greater accessibility, and visibility for singers, families, the community and donors to increase awareness of the choir’s offerings and benefits.
- Community Involvement – Build relationships with local schools, art organizations and cultural groups. Engage in give back events like City of Salisbury holiday event or hosting public performances and workshops. Increase volunteer base for the joy of community.
