HealthPort

A nonprofit organization

HealthPort began as Go-Getters a psychiatric rehabilitation program offering a broad array of programs designed to assist people recovering from severe mental illness to integrate more fully into their chosen home communities. Founded in 1979 by Mary Kay Noren, a social worker at Eastern Shore State Hospital, Go-Getters was one of many community rehabilitation programs modeled after the Fountain House Clubhouse in New York. It has operated for over four decades and currently serves over 400 clients in the community.

In 2000, Lower Shore Clinic was created to provide outpatient mental health clinic services. In 2011, the Assertive Community Treatment team was added to provide mobile treatment to clients who are having difficulty using office-based services. In 2012, Primary Care was added as a service to all clients and citizens of the Lower Shore Counties. With an on-site pharmacy this integrated model of care provides services to over 2000 citizens of Wicomico, Dorchester, Somerset, Caroline, Talbot, and Worcester Counties.

As of 2016, Go-Getters Inc. is a subsidiary of Lower Shore Clinic, Inc. In May 2019, the Go-Getters Foundation, Inc. Board merged with the Lower Shore Clinic, Inc. Board of Directors. In September 2022 the HealthPort became a designated Certified Community Behavior Health Clinic (CCBHC) by SAMSHA and the only organization to receive the designation in the State of MD in 2022. This certification has allowed us to expand our services and including serving children and adolescents. On May 1, 2024, Lower Shore Clinic, Inc. rebranded and became HealthPort, Inc.

HealthPort has been CARF accredited since 2015. The organization is currentlyaccredited in the following areas:
