The non-profit Kind Minds United was founded with the mission to support and educate our community with engaging programs focusing on kindness, self-care, anti-bullying and suicide prevention with tools like creativity and nature.
Since January 2026 we have serviced 1,266 students in 11 different schools, businesses and organizations through 65 classes. We visit homeless shelters once a month and working with different organizations serving in-need populations.
Our Programs:
Kindness & Care, a program geared toward students PreK - 5th grade:
Promoting kindness and self-care by learning pro-social attitudes, and building skills and strategies to safely and effectively deal with social and emotional challenges. In this class students will create a pour paint art piece using colors to express their feelings.

Anti-Bullying, a program geared toward students 1st - 8th grade:
What is Bullying & why people bully? What it does to the person who gets bullied? How to find help when you get bullied? And the final message that "Together we can stop Bullying!" After the presentation we will paint rocks with a positive message or a beautiful image and add them to the Community River of Kindness at Stephen Decatur Park.

What are the advantages of the Internet? What are the dangers of the Internet?
It is essential to teach students about the dangers of the internet, including the importance of not talking to strangers , recognizing inappropriate content, and to provide them with the tools to navigate the online world safely. Gambling/Gaming Addiction, a program geared toward students 3rd - 12th grade:
What is Compulsive Gambling/Gaming? Why is it so addictive? What are the signs of Compulsive Gambling? Problems you can face when addicted to Gambling. Recognizing the problem with Gambling and getting help!
And after the program we paint a shell with a beautiful Mandala to celebrate what beauty nature has to offer.

We are talking about warning signs, how students can help somebody in a crisis, and how to care for themselves.
After the presentation we will create a safety plan on the back, and on the front a self-portrait which shows what makes each of us unique.

Eco Therapy Summer Adventure Camp, a program geared toward students 8-14 struggling with Mental Health Challenges:
We want to get kids back outside to learn social skills, resiliency, motivation and self-efficacy. This is a tech-free and completely outdoor program build on the principles of adventure therapy and nature-based therapeutic practices. This camp as we believe helps prevent youth suicide by providing these students with essential skills to maintain healthy and happy lives while interacting with others and pushing their own boundaries.
We are grateful to our donors for making this summer camp financially accessible to all kids that have expressed need and interest in the camp.
