It Takes a Village to Help Our Children, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit located in Crisfield, Md. providing afterschool, summer, and college and career access programs to more than 200 ‘at risk’ youth, ages 4-17, each year. Operating as a 21st Century Community Learning Center, we are the only afterschool program operating Monday – Friday, in our community.
Our mission is to engage the ‘village’ to help build a better future for our children by providing activities designed to promote their spiritual, social and educational well being so that they can reach their fullest potential.
It Takes a Village to Help Our Children, Inc. wants to be that support system, that ‘gap’, if you will, that is there to guide our kids from where they are, to where they need to be. In order to meet the challenges facing our communities youth, we are reaching out to engage, ‘the village’. We Need You!
Mission
Our mission is to engage the ‘village’ to help build a better future for our children by providing activities designed to promote their spiritual, social and educational well being so that they can reach their fullest potential.
Needs
We are currently in need of raising $1,000,000 to complete our building! Our current location is too small for the needs of our community, and we are seeking to fill that gap by creating a safe space for our youth. We have raised over $2,000,000, but due to rising costs for materials we will need to continue our fundraising efforts to finalize our move.
