Building Access. Restoring Dignity. Strengthening Communities.
Every day, neighbors across the Lower Eastern Shore are trapped in their own homes — unable to safely get to medical appointments, visit family, or even step outside — because they lack a safe way to enter or exit. Chesapeake Housing Mission (CHM) changes that.
We build wheelchair ramps and perform critical home repairs — completely free of charge — for low-income residents in Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties. Most projects are completed by volunteer teams who put their faith into action, ensuring our most vulnerable neighbors can live in homes that are safe, healthy, and accessible.
Since 2009, CHM has completed over 1,000 projects, transforming lives one project at a time. More than 70% of our clients are seniors, and many face serious health challenges that make safe home access a daily struggle. With your support, we can continue to offer hope, independence, and dignity to those who have nowhere else to turn.
Your donation directly funds materials that make these life-changing projects possible. Together, we can help our neighbors live safely and independently, prevent avoidable injuries, and build a community rooted in compassion and care.
