Looking Ahead

The Beach to Bay Heritage Area (BBHA) is a grassroots, nonprofit organization whose purpose is to preserve, protect and promote the cultural, natural and historical heritage of Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties.

Through a variety of partnerships with individual citizens, representatives of various organizations, and public agencies, we work to blend economic development at the local level with the conservation of the area's natural, cultural and historic resources to serve all counties and municipalities on Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore.

Our key goal is to stimulate cultural heritage tourism growth and the associated economic benefits, while preserving and promoting the heritage area through grants projects awards that are in keeping with our mission.

Our mission is to promote, preserve and protect the cultural heritage, historical linkages and natural assets of Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore.

Needs

The Beach to Bay Heritage Area is developing a guide to public art on the Eastern Shore, a water trail guide, expanding outdoor recreation to at need individuals in the community and a new documentary on our local crab pickers.

Donations help us uplift the underrepresented voices in our communities and elevate our heritage.

Donations will also help us give out fishing rods, nets, and other equipment so that more can enjoy the natural wonders of the lower shore!
