Critical Moment for Community Art
The Art League of Ocean City (ALOC) is at a pivotal, high-stakes moment. Right now, a perfect storm of federal funding cuts, rising operating costs, and membership attrition is straining our ability to keep our doors open and our most crucial community programs running. This isn't just about keeping the lights on; it’s about protecting the free art enrichment classes we offer to local Title I schools, the grief and stress relief workshops we provide for those struggling, and the free admission to our year-round gallery that provides a cultural anchor for the entire Delmarva region. We are facing a critical deficit that jeopardizes our commitment to the children, the elderly, and the developmentally delayed individuals who rely on our services. Your investment today is the immediate lifeline that ensures the ALOC can stabilize its foundation, expand its reach, and continue to serve as a zero-profit organization dedicated solely to the artistic heart of our community. We cannot weather this storm and fulfill our mission without your urgent support.
We urgently require funding for the following specific, high-impact projects and ongoing programs:
Building Expansion (Pergola Project): $40,000 needed to complete this expansion project, allowing us to increase our class offerings and boost student enrollment.
Symphony 21 Music Education: $35,000 to fund this encompassing experience featuring professional symphonic musicians, promoting music education and inspiring children across the Eastern Shore.
After School Art Enrichment: $6,000 to sustain instructors and materials for our free art programs in four Worcester County Title I schools.
Scholarship Fund: $15,000 annually to ensure college students majoring in art and art related fields can realize their dream of a college degree.
Technology Upgrades: $10,000 Funding for crucial software and hardware upgrades to ensure staff and students have access to modern creative tools and administrative efficiency.
Digitally Literate Volunteers: We need year-round volunteers comfortable with technology to help manage our growing number of community events.
